SIPS  Episode –  Gin Cocktails (sounds of swooning) have been around forever and we venture down this path covering some of favorites. We’ve tinkered with the recipes to dial them in with modern products and techniques. Oh, you’ll be making that Corpse Reviver for breakfast quite soon after checking out this episode.  We taste and rate the following gin cocktails from 1-5:

9:27 The Last Word

3/4 ounce gin – Freeland Dry or any good London Dry Style

3/4 ounce Green Chartreuse

3/4 ounce maraschino liqueur - Luxardo

3/4 ounce fresh lime juice

Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake.



Strain into a chilled coupe glass.


20:10 Bijou

1.5 oz gin

3/4 oz green chartreuse

3/4 oz vermouth rojo (preferably spanish: lacuesta, yzaguirre, p. Quilted

4 dashes Regan's orange bitters

Twist of orange,

Add olive is optional


28:25 Bennett

2 oz. gin

¾ oz. fresh lime juice

¾ oz. simple syrup

2 dashes Angostura bitters

Tools: shaker, strainer

Glass: cocktail

Garnish: lime wheel

Shake all ingredients with ice to chill, then strain into a chilled glass. Garnish.


36:20 Corpse Reviver No. 2

Absinthe, to rinse – rinse the mixing cup with ice and strain out

3/4 ounce London dry gin – preference to Mahon

3/4 ounce Lillet blanc

3/4 ounce orange liqueur – Cointreau or Pierre Ferrand Curacao 

3/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed


Use a coupe glass, add the Absinthe to the mixing shaker and strain out, Mix everything else in the same shaker, and strain into glass. Garnish with an Orange Twist.
